Crater is an innovative web-based and mobile technology company that helps modernise the moving experience for its customers. The brief was to a create a slick, strong, modern brand that users could trust. The team at Crater wanted a confident, masculine feel, which we created using a strong, monochromatic palette with a punchy red accent.
The brief was to create a strong, iconic mark that spoke to digital. We were inspired by the classic wifi icon to create a notched mark in the shape of the Crater ‘C’. We included a red element in the centre of the icon to convey a sense of confidence and boldness.
In keeping with the powerful feel of the logo, we used a base of stark black accented with white typography. The overall feel of the branding is crisp and contemporary.
Because a big part of their business involves innovative video technology, one of the main features Crater requested was the integration of video throughout their website. The site also needed to be responsive and easy to use on tablet and mobile. We also integrated a blog page into the site, so that they could keep users up to date on their news. Bold typography and black and white images completed the look and feel.
